Flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki will bring wholegarments to Shanghai department stores for the first time, and directly offer end consumers tailor-made apparel this December.

Seamless, fashionable garments made on Shima Seiki WholeGarment systems will be provided for Shanghainese consumers. Each buying consumer will possess a piece of seamless, well-designed garment at his/her own size. “The garments are absolutely a piece of ‘only you’,” Ikuto Umeda, Chief Executive Officer of Shima Seiki Win Win, told AdsaleATA.comat the Grand Opening of the showroom of Shima Seiki Win Win in Hong Kong on October 13.

At the Isetan department store for about two weeks from December 5, consumers are welcome to choose their preferred color and size, and the style is amendable to fit the ideal of individual consumers, according to Takeo Arikawa, Managing Director of Shima Seiki Win Win Shanghai.

These wholegarments offer increased comfort to wearers and each piece of “Only You” apparel is a unique Christmas gift that cannot be found anywhere else, Mr Arikawa added.

The made-to-order concept is made possible with the Shima Seiki’s Ordermade software called SDS-ONE and SDS-ONE APEX apparel design systems, which allow super-realistic knit simulations and 3D virtual sampling functions, explained Mitsuhiro Shima, Managing Director of the Shima Seiki group.

In addition, made-to-order seamless garments made on Shima Seiki WholeGarment systems are available in selected department stores in Japan this month (October) and in November.

Shima Seiki Win Win is a subsidiary of the Shima Seiki group in Hong Kong, and seamless apparel and accessory designs are demonstrated at the new showroom for manufacturers, buyers and designers.
